Attention CPFS/CCPS Recertification Applicants

We are updating the recertification application for both CPFS/CCPS on March 31, 2026. This may affect your recertification. Please read the section that matches your expiration date:

If your credential expires before March 31, 2026

If your credential expires after March 31, 2026, but before July 1, 2026

If your credential expires after July 1, 2026

You must submit your recertification application by March 8, 2026.

If you do not submit by March 8, you will have to start over and re-submit your recertification application after the update on March 31, 2026.

We recommend submitting your application by March 31st, otherwise you will need to start over.

You do not need to do anything right now because you will use the new application when it is time to renew.

We hope to see your applications submitted and ready for review after July 1, 2026.

What are the changes?

The changes made reflect updates made to the applications in 2025 that have already been described in the CPFS and CCPS Manuals since March 2025. These changes were implemented into initial applications from March through September 2025 and include the following additions:

  • CPFS ONLY: Personal Recovery Attestation
    • As noted in the CPFS Manual that was released in March 2025, CPFS initial and recertification applicants will be required to attest to 2 years of sustained recovery starting March 2026
  • Updated Applicant Information and Questionnaire steps
  • Updated instructions for all Certemy steps
  • A new step to provide optional additional information on trainings applied to the application

If you already see the above information in your Certemy application: This is because you completed the old version of your application after we first released the March 2025 updates. As a result, the application currently assigned to you is already the updated version and no further action is required on your part.

We are sorry for any inconvenience. We are finishing the last big update for recertification applications and we appreciate your patience.

  1. My certification expired per the past organization I had worked for. Do I have to start all over again? to get recertification for myself?
