Peer Recovery Training 30 Hours – April 16, 22, 23, 29, 30, 2026; 7 am – 2:30 pm with Ethical Foundations for Peers May 20, 21, 22 (for 3 day only). Day 1 & Day 2 @ 7 am – 2:30 pm. Day 3 @ 7 am – 11:30 am.

All courses are live virtual by Zoom Attendance is mandatory for all dates listed. This training is in alignment with the IC & RC Five Domains. This bundle package includes 30 hour Core Peer Training and 16 hour Ethical Foundations for Peers.

Course Description: This peer support course is designed for individuals looking to begin their journey as a peer recovery support specialist or peer recovery coach in the substance use field; or for those who are looking to learn how to better engage with those suffering from Substance Use Disorder (SUD). Participants will gain a strong foundation of the roles of a peer recovery coach and understand how the roles are different from other traditional and existing support methods. Participants will be introduced to the many concepts and skills involved in effective recovery coaching, preparing them for professional roles to serve their communities as peer support advocates. Course Objectives: Understand the basics of addiction and the brain.; Understand common behaviors of addiction.; Practice skills of motivational interviewing.; Define the roles of a recovery coach.; Gain an understanding of what recovery is.; Evaluate the stages of change and stages of recovery.; Identify harm reduction.; Develop reuse prevention plans.; Utilize SMART Goals.; Recognize the importance of self-care.
