DESCRIPTION:Compassionate Care for People With SUD Workshop \nCompassionat
 e Care for People With SUD is an introductory course that is designed to e
 quip learners with fundamental knowledge and skills to understand\, suppor
 t\, and advocate for people with substance use disorder (SUD). It covers c
 ritical topics such as the addiction cycle\, the neuroscience of addiction
 \, and those impacted by SUD. The course emphasizes using person-first lan
 guage and cultivating a non-judgmental and empathetic approach when intera
 cting with people affected by SUD. It explores recovery as a restorative a
 pproach and examines various approaches to holistic care. Additionally\, t
 he course familiarizes learners with the range of treatment and recovery r
 esources available within communities\, enabling them to make appropriate 
 recommendations based on individual needs This training is only recommend
 ed to those who are seeking hours for CPFS recertification. \nLearning Ob
 jectives:  \n\nDescribe the addiction cycle\, the neuroscience of addict
 ion\, and those impacted by substance use disorder (SUD). \nDevelop an em
 pathetic approach that disrupts and reduces stigma when working with\, and
  advocating\, for patients who use substances. \nIdentify strategies that
  support and empower patient autonomy. \nDevelop a patient empowerment pl
